Penang Heritage Tour – Little India experience

Penang Science Cluster (PSC)

PSC is a non-profit, tax-exempt organisation with a mission to build a healthy pipeline of talent in Penang and Malaysia by sparking interest in science and technology, creating a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among our young in Penang and Malaysia.

PSC encourages and supports the establishment of science cafes in population centres and MakerLabs in schools in Penang to promote the learning of STEM subjects in a fun and hands-on approach and to support the growth of the maker movement in Penang.

Esplanade /Fort Cornwallis

The Esplanade is a seafront promenade bordering an open field where festivals and events are often held. Located along this winding stretch are War Memorial to fallen soldiers, a hawker food court and the ancient Fort Cornwallis . Fort Cornwallis was first built by Captain Francis Light when he first landed in Penang. It is an ancient sentinel of Georgetown, the capital of Penang, where it stands guard over the Island’s cap. Visitors can visit both sites, the Esplanade and Fort Cornwallis as they stand adjacent to each other. Entrance fee into Fort Cornwallis : RM3/PAX

Trip  B – Kek Lok Si & Penang Hill Tour (Green Colour Paper)

Arrive at Kek Lok Si Temple

11.00am -1.00pm

Arrive and going up Penang Hill by train (Claim your train ticket)


Option to drop at Gurney Plaza and travel on your own/Return directly to RECSAM by tour bus

Kek Lok Si

Kek Lok Si , the largest Buddhist temple in Southeast Asia, began construction in 1890. Its 7 storey handcrafted “Pagoda of Ten Thousand Buddhas’ was completed in 1930 followed by a 30.2m bronze Kuan Yin statue in 2002. The temple lights up in remarkable fashion during Chinese New Year. Surroundings the areas are thousand of hawkers selling fashionable dress, souvenir items and exotic food. Please visit for details.


Penang Hill

Penang Hill offers a panoramic view of the city 830m(2,723ft) above sea level. Getting to the top is half the fun with a choice of hiking or travelling in a funicular train. At the summit, there is a flower garden, a mini bird park, bungalows and guesthouses. Entrance fee : foreigner – RM30/pax; local RM8/pax
